Hi, I'm Reef. I started Happily.ai because I learned something the hard way: technical problems are easy, people problems are tough.

I studied Materials Science at Northwestern because I was interested in how things worked on the atomic level. Then I built 5 startups and worked at Google. I quickly realized: I could write code, optimize systems, and solve technical challenges all day. But managing teams, keeping people engaged, dealing with conflict? That stuff crushed me.

That's what eventually led me to people analytics research at MIT. I became obsessed with applying the same scientific rigor I used on materials to human behavior. What if we could understand the 'atomic level' of workplace interactions and use data to make people genuinely happier and more effective together?
